• About the conference

For the first International Conference on Afforestation & Reforestation (ICAR), WWF and Forests Forward partner, Interholco, promoted the benefits of FSC-certification in the Congo Basin with an event highlighting a new research paper published in Nature. Today, six million hectares of forest is FSC-certified in the Congo Basin, with a target of ten million by 2025.

WWF and IKEA hosted a side event exploring how effective collaboration between civil society and the private sector can contribute to positive impacts for nature and people, featuring case studies and interventions from the WWF-IKEA partnership including in China, Vietnam, and Eastern Europe.

The International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) World Congresses is a key forum for scientists and stakeholders to discuss technical and societal issues of forest-related research, policy-making, and management.
