FOREST- BASED INTERVENTIONS AND INVESTMENTS

Participants in the areas of improving forest management and/or responsible forest product sourcing might want to look how they can further address their impact on global forests through additional measures to maintain, enhance and demonstrate the value of forests.

Likewise, other non-forest sector organizations such as banks or investors for example, that are interested in making a positive contribution to the global sustainability agenda might want to engage through Forests Forward in forest-based actions and investments that deliver direct impacts for people and nature.

Examples of forest-based interventions and investment types are forest restoration beyond legal requirements, support Protected Areas (PA) and High Conservation Value (HCV) management, fair market access through preferential purchasing policies, pricing that recognizes sustainability actions, projects that directly improve people´s livelihood such as payment for ecosystem services, and so on.
